Los Angeles Dodgers History in the Koufax Era

Sandy Koufax No-hitter #2
On May 11, 1963, Sandy Koufax pitched his second career no-hitter against Juan Marichal and the Giants in front of a turn-away crowd of 55,530 at Dodger Stadium. That year Koufax went on to win both the Cy Young and Most Valuable Player awards and led the Dodgers to a 4-game sweep of the Yankees in the World Series. After Game 4 a stunned Yogi Berra remarked, “I can see how he won 25 games. What I don’t understand is how he lost five.”
The story of the transformation of Sandy Koufax from a wild left-hander with a losing record on the verge of quitting the game, to an artist on the mound is told in Finding the Left Arm of God: Sandy Koufax and the Los Angeles Dodgers, 1960-1963 McFarland & Company, Inc., Publishers.
